Spend a few days indulging in one of the most romantic areas in Tuscany by meandering along the famous Love Route that stretches from the medieval hilltop village of Lucignano to the Renaissance town of Pienza! Visiting couples wishing to stay here for a few days have plenty of beautiful vacation rentals available to them in and around Lucignano and Pienza and on the path between them. There’s no nicer setting for a romantic getaway than here!
In the walled village of Lucignano, couples can enjoy strolling around the narrow streets with tightly packed old houses and admire the breath taking views that can be seen of the surrounding Tuscan countryside.
Nicknamed the ‘Town of Love’, Lucignano is most famous for an ornate piece in its museum situated in the 13th century Palazzo Comunale. In the fourth room of displays, visitors can see the special Golden Tree. It took groups of very talented goldsmiths over one hundred and twenty years to create this majestic golden tree that stands at a height of 2.60 metres! It’s beautifully decorated with coral, enamel pieces and rock crystals.

Originally revered for its religious symbology in medieval times, people began to believe that the Golden tree had the power to seal a lasting bond between couples who renewed their vows of love and fidelity in front of it! Many single people who came to visit it also claim that it ‘granted’ their wish to attract the perfect partner into their lives.
