Property Description

Spacious and comfortable villa with swimming pool just a stone’s throw from Vicchio, roughly 40km north of Florence.
The town of Vicchio is the birthplace of Giotto, the famous 14th century painter and architect. Among his numerous works are the bell tower of the Duomo in Florence, the frescoes of the Scrovegni Chapel in Padua, the Basilica inferiore in Assisi, the Bardi and Peruzzi Chapels in Florence
Vicchio has a train station which allows for easy connections to Florence (trains leave roughly every hour, with a journey time of 45minutes).
This beautiful rental villa is in a peaceful location with panoramic views. Just a few meters from the villa live the owners (in a completely separate property to the villa). The rental property is reached via a small stretch of dirt road.
This rental is ideal for a group of friends or families and is a great base from which to discover Tuscany.

Distances: Vicchio (wide variety of shops) - 6 km, Borgo San Lorenzo - 8 km, the toll booth at the exit of the highway A1 is roughly 25km away, the Barberino Outlet Village - 25 km, Florence - 35 km, the Chianti Classico wine region is within a range 50 / 100 km, Camaldoli - 70 km, Arezzo - 95 km, San Gimignano - 100 km, Siena - 125 km.
The international Mugello racetrack (Formula 1 circuit and world motorcycle championship) is roughly 15km away.
The Golf dei Medici golf course is roughly 15km away.

Attic (accessed from the second floor via a spiral staircase) bedroom with 2 single beds and with a private bathroom with a shower. The lowest ceiling height of the space is in the bathroom at 1.6m.

Das Haus war wunderschön. Die Sauberkeit in den Zimmern liess etwas zu wünschen übrig. Das Geschirr wurde von der Geschirrspülmaschine nicht sauer geputzt - selbst nach 3 intensiven Spülgängen - und der Billardtisch war nicht benutzbar, da der Filz auf dem Tisch Löcher aufweiste. Die Nähe zu Florenz, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und Restaurants wurde wiederum sehr geschätzt.

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] The house was beautiful. The cleanliness in the rooms left something to be desired. The dishes were not cleaned by the dishwasher - even after 3 intensive rinses - and the pool table was not usable, holes in the felt. The proximity to Florence, shopping and restaurants in turn was much appreciated.

The only reason this is not an ‘excellent’ is the kitchen. We were there in fantastic weather so we’re not using the kitchen to cook very much. However one fridge for 12 people in hot weather is not enough. Also a fly screen on the door would have helped a great deal.
The setting of the house is amazing. We would definitely rebook it.

The villa was fabulous, loads of room, to die for views, well thought out outside seating, great pool. We had nothing to complain about!

As is often the case the access track is fairly rough but only a low sports car would struggle getting up there. Very well equipped supermarkets 3km drive away in Borgo, would recommend the Co-op. Also a direct train to Florence from the station.

The house is fantastic but needs continuisly caring that is not done. The cleaning overall could be better. Change broken lightbulbs, control how doors are working/sounding.
The kitchen is in poor order. Glases and pocelin is like from a fleemarket. Knives are not sharped. The dishwasher needed desaltning, we did that. We asked for 15 glases for white resp red wine, we had no for answer.

Overall excellent experience. We filled the Villa and yet everything worked well. Great for a family reunion or extended family gathering. Train to Firenze was simple and being in the mountains added options for those who wanted more outdoor experiences.

This place exceeded our expectations. Beautiful, spacious, well-equipped and clean, the villa is up on a mountain which offers exceptional views. The hosts were very helpful and always ready to answer our inquiries. Looking forward to visiting again!
