In November the Sagra del Tartufo Bianco, San Miniato's famous white truffle fair takes place and attracts countless hungry travellers. Taking place during the last three weekends of November, there is a whole range of truffle-related events in the town that produces 25% of Italy’s rare and coveted white truffles.
Wine-lovers, meanwhile, should head to the Chianti area for Vendemmia, the annual grape harvest. Tourists can join in and pick grapes, all while learning about the wines and culture and enjoying tasty lunches of crusty bread, local cheese, cured meats and stews. There is also a range of wine festivals during October, November and December including the Festa dell'Uva e del Vino in Chiusi, the Festa dell'Uva in Impruneta and the Festa dell'Uva in Capoliveri on Elba Island.
Additionally, one can head to Barberino di Mugello for their famous chestnuts and mushrooms or any town across the region for the markets, local food festivals and seasonal specialities served in restaurants all over.
