5. Haring's mural in Pisa: the ultimate backdrop
Keith Haring's “Tuttomondo” mural, located in the Tuscan town of Pisa, near the station in Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, is his last public work. Painted in 1989, just before the artist died prematurely in 1990, when he was already beginning to fall sick due to HIV-related complications, it was produced in collaboration with the students of Caparol Center.

Painted in 1989, just before the artist died prematurely in 1990, when he was already beginning to fall sick due to HIV-related complications, it was produced in collaboration with the students of Caparol Center. Painted on the side of the old convent of S. Antonio, it sees a merging of past and present but is also an interesting coming together of a catholic building with the work of a gay HIV-positive artist. It is a must-see for any art lovers visiting the city, as it is, but a bonus is that, once you're done admiring it, it is also the perfect spot for a photo. I was super-happy to get my own picture in front of this beautiful work of art during my few hours in the city recently and I'll never forget the story behind getting it (running like a lunatic across the city with my father to appease the rest of our impatient family, who were waiting in a cafe near the Leaning Tower). Find a luxury villa in Pisa and see Haring's last public work for yourself.
6. The prettiest spa town in the world?
Bagno Vignoni, is quite possibly the most beautiful spa town in the world and, certainly, Tuscany.
6. The prettiest spa town in the world?
Bagno Vignoni, is quite possibly the most beautiful spa town in the world and, certainly, Tuscany.

The town is one of Tuscany's oldest tourist destinations and is a historic spa town which has always attracted visitors to its picturesque setting and hot springs. Located in the stunning Val D'Orcia area, it is characterised by its town square that features a large pool, from the bottom of which a number of hot springs (known for their therapeutic quality since antiquity) bubble up. Sadly, it isn't possible to swim in the town square's medieval pool but there are alternatives nearby. However, the image of steam rising off this beautiful pool with the historic stone buildings in the background and the landscape of Tuscany visible in the distance makes for a truly beautiful photo-op. Find a luxury villa in the Val D'Orcia and relax in the town's hot springs and take some shots of this stunning town centre by which to remember your trip.
