If you've found your luxury villa in Lucca and are looking for things to do but can't seem to escape the easy answers of food, museums and places that attract every tourist in the world (or so it would seem from the lines into such places!), then listen up. If you're after something different, a bit of an adventure, time outdoors and a little bit physical exertion mixed in with fun, then you're going to want to check out the recently opened adventure park in Bagni di Lucca. Canyon Park has opened at Scesta, near Cocciglia, on the Brennero road towards Abetone. It is the first adventure park developed in a canyon in Italy and enables visitors to go rafting on the river, zoom down a zip line and clamber over the wire suspension bridge across the canyon, among other things.
Canyon Park is built inside a canyon above a crystal blue river in the stunning scenery of Lucca, one of the most beautiful corners of Tuscany. The surrounding environment remains pristine and allows you to absorb the beauty of the area as you have plenty of fun! The route through the park features zip-lines more than 100 meters long, suspended above the rapids and calm waters inside the Cocciglia Gorges. It was opened in August 2015 and is a state of the art adventure park with passages like Slack Lines, Nepalese Bridges, Wood Bridges and zip lines scattered all over
The activity starts with visitors being kitted out with harnesses and helmets at the Canyon Base – safety first, of course! Every passenger will have its own safety gear which include a pulley and a special certified carabiner. You will then be briefly instructed about all of the most important safety rules and route features. Then the exciting bit happens, the adventure starts and you will all head out onto the route. After gliding along the zip-line above the Lima rapids, you will then move to a sequence of secured acrobatic passages, zig-zagging inside the canyon, right under the old "Ponte Nero" where a 16th Century Church is located to the final zip line named "Blue Lagoon Zip Line" for the blue waters beneath.
