Go Horse-Riding In Chianti!

Horse-riding in Chianti
If you've found a luxury villa in Florence and are spending time in that great city, you might find the crowds of tourists and pace of trying to see everything a little tiresome after a while. Of course, you'll want to see as much as you can and it is worth the lines but it might be worth escaping the city for a little while so you can return revived and ready to tackle the wealth of things to see and do. Why not take a day trip out of the city and get some fresh air by exploring the nearby Chianti region on horseback? A fun and somewhat different way to get around and see things, this is a great way to get some light exercise and to explore both the Tuscan landscape and the wine-making heritage of the famous Chianti area.
Grapes in Chianti
You can choose from a morning or afternoon session and will be brought from the centre of Florence to Chianti by minivan to begin your day. Anyone, no matter what their experience level, can participate as long as they are over fourteen years of age, as the session begins with an orientation lesson. The horses provided by the stables can be matched to your comfort and experience level and are clean, kind and know the route well. Helmets and all other equipment is provided so you just need to wear casual, comfortable clothes. Other than that, there is nothing for you to worry about, leaving you ready to just enjoy the day.
Vineyards in Chianti
Once you've become familiar with your horse and have been kitted out with everything you need, you'll be brought right into some of what is considered Italy's most beautiful scenery with rolling hills, rich forests, vineyards and centuries-old olive groves. After a while, the group will be brought to a prestigious local winery, where you'll get a guided tour of the cellars and learn all about the region's rich wine-making heritage and traditions. Then you'll visit a boutique winery, set within in a stunning historic Italian villa and surrounded by rolling hills, cypress trees, vineyards and olive groves, where you can enjoy a delicious Tuscan meal. You'll try local specialities such as Pecorino cheese and bruschetta and be introduced to wine-tasting. Once you're full, happy and sleepy, you'll be brought back to Florence.
Groups are limited to just six people, meaning that you can go with a group of friends or just one or two others and are ensured that you'll have an intimate and personalised experience. The whole tour costs around €100 which is rather good value as it includes transport, an activity, a meal, two winery tours and wine-tasting. If you're interested, you can book through Viator and explore Tuscany and her traditions in this fun, unique and delicious way.
