For the fifth year the Melodia del Vino festival is taking place in Tuscany. The festival aims to bring together Tuscan flavours, with the beauty of the surrounding landscape and good music. It is a cultural event which presents concerts in beautiful locations accompanied by delicious food and wine each year. As 2015 is the year of Archaeology in Tuscany, the festival also aims to tip its hat to this heritage as well this year which is why it is taking place at Rocca di Frassinello. This famous winery was designed by the internationally acclaimed architect, Renzo Piano and is the site of Etruscan archaeological discoveries.

The title of this year's show, “Classico in Jazz con Echi Etruschi” pays tribute to the Etruscan necropolis and the archaeological finds of the estate. As the festival is taking place in Gavorrano in the Maremma area, why not find a lovely villa with pool in Grosetto-Maremma and spend the evening of July 25th enjoying it all?
Melodia del Vino Festival was created by Marc Laforet and Micel Gotlib who also conceived the French festival, Grands Crus Musicaux, which has been a fantastic success for a decade. The idea to do something similar in Tuscany came about in the summer of 2010 when the pair met with Francis Bouquillon, son of the great sculptor, Albert Bouquillon, and music fanatic.

The region of Tuscany and owners of the venues then became involved, allowing for this celebration of wine, music and cultural heritage. The festival is aimed at both locals and tourists and aims to become a recognised event on calendars all over the globe. It also represents the continuation of the centuries-old tradition of friendship and camaraderie between Tuscany and France.
Stefano Cocco Cantini, on the saxophone and oboe, and Simone Zanchini on the accordion and live electronics will be this year's musicians.
The doors open at 6.30 pm with a tour and aperitivo at the winery at 7 pm before the show itself takes place at 8.30 pm.
