This non-profit trust has done some incredible work since 1975 to save, restore and renovate many important monuments and places that contribute greatly to Italy’s colourful heritage.

One of the FAI’s major incentives is a project called “I luoghi del Cuore” meaning ‘Places I Love’. This is a census whereby everyone is asked what monuments or areas of Italy they would like to see restored to their former glory. This huge survey is conducted every two years and draws much welcome attention to the treasures of this magnificent country.
