Golden Retriever
If you can’t bear the thought of leaving your dearly loved cat or dog at home while you go on holidays to Tuscany, then why not bring them along to enjoy the fun! There is a wealth of spectacular pet-friendly holiday villas scattered all across Tuscany that welcome you and your pet to stay for as long as you wish. Choose from the very finest five star luxury villas, animal friendly apartments and hotels in Tuscan cities like Florence, Lucca and Pisa or charming countryside farmhouses where your cat or dog have the freedom to wander around off the lead and get to know the animals already living there!

Tuscany has the best reputation in Italy for welcoming pets along with their owners on vacation. It has the highest number of beaches that allow animals, most of which are located in the province of Livorno. Other gorgeous beaches that you can enjoy the days with your pet are located along the coastline in the provinces of Piombino, Grosetto and Cecina. Obviously, it’s expected that you clean up after your dog and ensure that it has plenty of fresh water and a shady place to rest if it gets too hot.

Although not all buses accept animals on board, some do but will charge a fare for the space required for your pet. Italian trains accept cats and dogs weighing less than six kilos, mostly for free but must be kept in a cage as they travel.

It’s a good idea to check with your airline before booking your pet holiday to Tuscany to ensure you encounter no problems as you enter Italy. All animals must be over three months old before travelling, have their European Pet Passport, and be fully vaccinated and micro chipped.

Some restaurants and museums even allow you to bring your pets along so it’s a good idea to check where they are before deciding where in Tuscany would be the ideal place for you to enjoy the cultural, historical and gastronomic delights that are happy to let your little friend in too!

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to enjoy your dream vacation to Tuscany and share your joyous experiences with your beloved pet. Friendly Italian laws have made it easier than ever for ‘Man’s best friend’ to get away from all the stresses of day to day life and enjoy a fantastic holiday with its affectionate owners!
