This modern stone farmhouse was born from the eco-conscious restoration of a former 19th-century hay barn, with the renovation carefully preserving original materials such as Chianti stone and exposed wooden beams. The interiors are further enriched with artistic details inspired by the historic Palio di Siena tradition, creating a space that seamlessly blends rustic heritage with contemporary comfort. Perched atop a hill at approximately 600 meters above sea level, the cottage commands breathtaking panoramic views across the Tuscan valleys, stretching as far as Mount Amiata and Mount Cetona. The property sits within a fully-fenced park of approximately 2,000 square meters, offering guests a private and tranquil outdoor environment surrounded by the authentic beauty of the Chianti landscape. A panoramic swimming pool, sunbathing area, and outdoor dining space complete the outdoor offering, while private parking for multiple vehicles is available within the fenced grounds. Outdoors
The grounds of Cottage Dolcevista extend across a gently terraced hillside setting, where outdoor paths, natural stone steps, and organic level changes create a landscape of great charm and privacy. The park, covering approximately 2,000 square meters within a two-metre high perimeter fence, features stony ground adorned with flower beds of medicinal plants and succulents, as well as areas planted with ornamental olive trees. Towards the pool area, a sustainable planting project has introduced singular species of creeping plants suited to dry, sloping soil, helping to minimize water consumption while maintaining the natural beauty of the surroundings. The outdoor dining area, positioned alongside the house, is shaded by an umbrella and offers a comfortable space for alfresco meals. A fixed barbecue is located just a few steps away, making outdoor cooking a natural part of the experience. The above-ground octagonal swimming pool, measuring 6.40 x 3.40 meters with a constant depth of 1.20 meters, is situated approximately 30 meters from the cottage on a lower level, reached via a short sloping path laid with Chianti stones in a distinctive lost steps pattern. The non-heated pool is lined in PVC and equipped with internal lighting, a chlorine purification system, and a wooden ladder for water access. The surrounding solarium area is shaded by oak trees and furnished with sunbeds and deckchairs, while a cold-water shower is conveniently located at the side of the pool. Property Summary
Nestled in the verdant heart of the Sienese Montagnola in Sovicille, Tuscany, Italy, L'Ovile is a remarkable vacation rental that embodies the timeless spirit of authentic rural living. This typical Tuscan farmhouse, whose origins date back to the beginning of the 20th century, was acquired together with the larger estate Casanova by its present owners in the 1960s and has since been lovingly restored using reclaimed materials such as the stone that covers its structure, as well as new materials crafted in the old tradition, including stone floors and bricks set above chestnut beams that grace the ceilings. The recent renovations have further distinguished the property by conferring upon its exterior a distinctive fortress style, a building technique rooted in the Middle Ages, while the integration of solar panels and a photovoltaic system reflects a deep commitment to environmental responsibility. Surrounded by dense woodland rich in chestnut groves, holm oaks, and oaks, L'Ovile offers guests a rare opportunity to immerse themselves in a landscape of extraordinary natural beauty, where gentle hills roll across vast tracts of countryside stretching toward the horizon, and ancient abbeys, towers, and historic stone villages bear witness to centuries of Tuscan history. The property benefits from a private yard of remarkable extension, with well-maintained outdoor spaces that invite relaxation and exploration. Reliable Internet WiFi connectivity is available throughout the stay, and private parking is provided on the premises, ensuring a comfortable and convenient arrival for all guests.
