This villa, dating from the 16th century, still retains the atmosphere of a an antique Templar residence. The central part of the villa and the right wing have recently been totally restored, maintaining the cotto floors and the beamed ceilings, yet adding all modern comforts. There is a piano in the sitting room, available for guests. To the front of the villa, there is a beautiful stone courtyard where it is possibile to enjoy the meals prepared by the helpful staff, who lives on the premises. This pretty property is located in a very quiet position within walking distance of the 12th century village of Palaia, and has beautiful views over the surrounding countryside, with olive groves, vineyards and medieval villages. The area is known as the Chianti of the Pisan hills and is an ideal base for visiting the nearby Tuscan towns of Montaione, Certaldo, Volterra and San Gimignano. Situated less than 20 minutes from the highway exit, Florence can also be reached in 40 minutes. The property has been recently restored by the owners who have used it in the past as a summer residence.
