In the first level of the garden, just below the house, there is a swimming pool (12 x 6 mt; depth: 1,5 mt) equipped with sun-beds and chairs. A stone barn has been renovated into a large, quality shower/changing room complete with WC serving the pool.
The owner can put next to the pool a heated Jacuzzi (on request at time of booking): the cost is € 250 per week.
From the paved poolside area guests may take full advantage of the magnificent view looking over small hilltop towns and villages with the Apennine mountain range forming the backdrop in the far distance. The area, historically populated by Etruscan, is rich in interesting places to visit, such as Città di Castello, Cortona and Arezzo. Sansepolcro, town of art and birthplace of several painters, among all Piero della Francesca, is only 20 minutes away from the property. Florence is 1,5 hours' drive away. Il Cicalino is part of an estate with a main villa and a few other houses, all belonging to the same family. Torre del Cielo - 'Tower of the Sky' - takes its name from its outstanding position over the valley from which you can enjoy superb panoramic views.
The tower was built in middle of 1600 when it was used as a lookout for approaching enemies. In 1894 the building was expanded to include a stone farmhouse. This work was done by the great-grandfather of the current owner.
Traditional Tuscan style was maintained in the recent restoration of this property. The ceiling and floors are beautifully finished with terracotta tiles, and the ceilings have exposed wooden beams. The original wooden doors have all been refinished with antique hardware.
There is a new pool (12 x 6 m depth 1.5 mt; open from 1st May to1st October) in a beautiful garden with roses , lavender, jasmine, with cypresses and olive trees, offering stunning views over the valley towards the lush green tuscan hills.
The owner can put next to the pool a heated Jacuzzi (on request at time of booking): the cost is € 250 per week.
The pool area has a big gazebo, table, chairs and barbeques, from which to enjoy your al-fresco meal, the mediaeval town of Monterchi and the lush green Tuscan Hills are a backdrop.

An old mill of ancient origins. Antico Mulino is part of a very old, stone farmhouse with remarkably ancient roots. The mill, property of the Lepri family from generations, has been handed down from father to son, and since the first of the '900 had been an important landmark of the local farming community. On the ground floor of the farmhouse you can still admire the ancient millstones used to produce flour that was used to prepare the famous Tuscan, homemade bread and cereal milling of all kinds.
The city of Arezzo and its works of art, monuments, shops and services. The village of Palazzo del Pero, where there is a bar and small grocery stores, is located just 3 km away and the city of Arezzo with its works of art, monuments, shops and services of all kinds is approximately 15 minutes by car. Antico Mulino is located on the edge of a green valley, in an easily accessible yet quiet and peaceful area.

An ancient watchtower. In 1300 an imposing building with a square plan and a mighty tower was built on this strip of land (570 metres above sea level) close to Arezzo, which marked the boundary between the two Italy, those of the Longobards and Byzantines. The fascinating building of military origin, still visible in the traces of battlements and in a few slit windows, has been carefully restored and transformed into a comfortable holiday villa. Thanks to this radical renovation the villa Torre di Vignale, that rises up majestically amongst thick oak and chestnut woods, has regained the importance and allure that had been eliminated by time.
The outdoor area and the panoramic swimming pool. The villa Torre di Vignale is surrounded by a large, panoramic garden full of flowers and equipped with garden furniture, barbecue and wood-burning oven. On one side of the garden, above the villa, there is a beautiful swimming pool (9 x 9 m - depth 1,20 - 2,20 m.).
Old-time charm and hospitality. The Villa has been comfortably and rationally furnished, for the most part with antique furniture, adding to the fascination of the house. The owner, Paola, will be happy to prepare meals for guests so that they can sample typical local cuisine.

The property lies in an ancient hamlet immersed in the Tuscan country-side in a beautiful location just a stone’s throw from the charming town of Anghiari (1.5km) where the famous battle of Anghiari took place in 1440 between the Florentines and the Milanese (painted by Leonardo da Vinci in one of his works).
The hamlet is made up of 7 houses. Each has been restructured in order to maintain the characteristic original appearance and style of the area, and amongst which Poggiodoro and Tobacco Loft share a tempting swimming pool in a panoramic area looking over the Sovara Valley, a garden and a wood burning oven for bread of pizza. These structures are shared among all of the guests of the hamlet.
The farm house was original an ancient tobacco drier and was restructured following environmentally friendly procedures, furnished with care and taste by the owners - architectures and interior designers, who have preserved the original structure while adding a modern comfort, it has been published more than once in architecture write-ups (Ville&Casali, Case&Country, Quin).
The location is ideal to easily reach all the beautiful corners of Tuscany.
