In the heart of Tuscany, at the doors of Chianti, rises this wonderful country-house, recently restored with all comforts and furnished with taste and practicality.
The property, which offers 4 bedrooms and 4 baths, is situated at the top of a hill, where a great part of Valdarno can be viewed, and offers short and long stays during all seasons.
Thanks to the strategic position, La Poggetta allows you to reach important touristic and cultural goals like Florence, Siena and Arezzo, in less than 40 minutes.
The house is surrounded by a wide and inviting fenced garden entered by an automatic gate, with wide spaces of inviting meadows.
You can enjoy the gorgeous view on the Arno Valley and on the Pratomagno, have a wonderful evening preparing delicious foods on the barbecue, let your children play outdoors, pick from the garden and orchard fruit, lettuce, vegetables and aromatic herbs all you need to have an intense relaxing holiday.
Distances: Cavriglia (restaurants, shops, bank, bus stop etc) 1 km far, also reachable on foot.
At guests' disposal:
The large and private swimming-pool (12 x 6 meters; depth: 1.10/2.10) allows you to enjoy the warm Tuscan days.
Under the pool there is a bathroom with shower; garden area with table, chairs and deck-chairs, sun umbrella.
Inside the garden there is also a tennis/basketball/volleyball court for guest's only use.
Internet Wi-Fi available free of charge; 3 baby beds available; 2 high chairs available
Extra services: cooking lesson, dinners, chef, wine testing, maid service.
An annex with 2 double bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and kitchen is available upon request from mid June until mid September (for the rest of the year the annex is occupied by a couple who doesn't use the garden, the pool and all the outside spaces):
Ground floor: entrance into the living room (with air conditioning), with sofas and kitchen (dishwasher, oven), closet and exit to the garden.
On the left 1 bathroom with shower, 1 double bedroom with exit to the garden.
On the right: double bedroom (with air conditioning) with ensuite bathroom with shower, and exit on the veranda.
Interior Description
The house is articulated on two floors which you can reach from the garden and from the parking area through inner stairs.
From the entrance you can reach all ground-floor rooms (150mq), composed by studio, large and comfortable furnished living-room and equipped with large fireplace and door-windows, through which the garden is accessed.
On the same floor you find the wide kitchen with all comforts ( microware, oven, coffee machine, dish washer) with direct access to the patio (large and covered barbecue, table, chairs) and the large dining-room, 1 lumber-room with freezer, washing machine. There is also a bathroom with shower near the entrance.
The first floor (150 mq) is accessed through inner stairs; 4 bedrooms with double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Two rooms have private bathroom with shower, while a third - equipped with Jacuzzi is reached from the corridor. All rooms have windows directly on the garden.

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsWe had an amazing week at La Pogetta. We were a group of 12 (6 couples) so had access to the main villa and the annex, which were both great. The facilities surrounding the villa couldn't have been better & we used the pool and tennis court every day. One of the highlights was organising a chef (Lorenzo) to come in and cook a four course Italian meal for us - it was the best meal we had all week.

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsThe villa is absolutely amazing, the pictures online don't do it justice. I focused my review on two areas: the hosts and the venue.
We found the owners to be very friendly and accommodating. They surprised us with fresh vegetables from their garden on two occasions during our stay at La Poggetta, which has greatly appreciated. They have also offered to source our red and white wine from a local vineyard (which was delicious and much appreciated!). The price was very reasonable too. They have also offered us a taste of their own olive oil, which we ended up buying to bring home for a very reasonable price.
The villa was very spacious, well-kept and clean! It had all facilities one can expect including four bathrooms, towels, bedsheets, as well as dishwasher and large fridge freezer in the kitchen. The pool is second to none, it's probably the best pool I've had in similar accommodations on the continent. The grounds are well-kept and the garden is very spacious. The outdoor barbeque got a lot of use, it's perfect and the owner's will make sure that it's fully stocked with wood. The villa is close to a reasonably-sized town with a couple of very good restaurants and take-aways. The place is very family-friendly, warm and cosy. What can I say? This was a fabulous villa for our group! It is within 1 hour to all that we wanted to see in Tuscany - Sienna, Cortona, San Gimignano, Florence and Montalcino. It is well furnished including dressers and armoires in the bedrooms for your clothes. The kitchen is of ample size and the indoor and outdoor dining spaces were great! The huge vegetable/fruit and herb garden was the best. Growing in the garden were tomatoes, cukes, zucchini, peppers, eggplant, figs, apples, cantaloupes, basil, sage, rosemary etc and we were free to use whatever we wanted. It felt so Italian to go pick our bounty for the evening meal.The other treat is Lorenzo! He is a friend of the owners and speaks English as the owners do not. He met us at the villa to show us around and we pre-arranged for him to come in and cook dinner for us for my 50th birthday and it was so delicious and he brought the wine pairings for each course as well. He is a very congenial, friendly and fun person and very helpful in so many ways. He had his aunt Lorena there to help with the meal and what a gem she is! She prepared the Tiramisu for my birthday cake and it was the best Tiramisu I have ever had. Lorenzo also has a local shop to get meats, cheeses, wines and other specialty food items. It is a great shop with reasonable prices. Lorenzo will also do custom tours and/or wine tours and cooking classes if you so desire. He was just the best. We also enjoyed the owners even though they did not speak English. You could just feel the warmth they exuberated. We truly enjoyed our time time in Tuscany and I would highly recommend La Poggetta! The only suggestion I would make is that the villa should have more wine glasses although there are plenty of glasses so you are never without a vessel to pour wine into and more ice trays in the freezer.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsOur family group comprised of 8 adults and we had been planning our visit for many months. I found the staff at easy reserve very helpful and prompt with their email replies. The villa was exactly as described and the photos were very accurate. If anything the phots didn't do justice to how spacious the villa is and the size of the surrounding grounds. Our hosts were very welcoming and their agent spoke English to make things a lot easier. The pool was clean, large and we used it every day. We had booked La Poggetta as well because we wanted a villa with a furno and our hosts also had wood provided and because we enjoyed cooking so much we ate in the villa all the time making pizzas, baking chickens and vegetables. The villa is less than an hour's drive to major towns of Florence and Siena. Also Cavriglia is a short drive away for groceries but their is a larger town with supermarket about 15 minutes away. Overall I would recommend easy reserve and La Poggetta to anyone especially larger groups as we all had our own bedrooms and plenty of bathrooms. The price is very reasonable and everything was great!

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsThe Villa was beautiful and well kept. It could easily sleep 12 (we had 7 in our group). The pool was great and it is nice having a tennis court if you like to play. The fresh vegetables (lettuce, tomatos, cucumbers, basley,, etc.) from their garden was an added bonus for those nights that you chose to eat in, as was the stone barbecue in the backyard. The villa is in a nice location about 1/2 way between Florence and Siena. Their is a train station in Montevarchi, about a 15 minute car ride away. The only negative is that the walk into town (Cavriglia), although only 5-10 minutes, is on a windy and somewhat busy road and it doesn't have any sidewalk or edge of the road to walk on. So you either have to be very careful and walk in single file or drive into town. Otherthan that, everything was wonderful.

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsOctober in Tuscany in autumn-colours, sunny days and cool nights. La Poggetta has a well-working fireplace and central heating, it was cosy warm in the evenings; during the day time it was sunny and warm enough to keep the doors open (don't forget to turn down the heating, you pay extra for gas and it's not cheap!). The pool was sparkling clean but the water to cold for a swim, instead we enjoyed every day the tennis court. Try the outdoors pizza oven; there are good family restaurants in town and nearby. The COOP supermarket in Cavriglia (open from 8.30-12.45; 16.30-20.30) closed on Sundays carries all the necessary household and food items you need. Remember to buy a few essential food and toiletry items on your way to Cavriglia before your arrive. The owners are very nice and helpful. Thanks to the internet connection in the house we were able to communicate by using a translator website. Check out the guest book, there are lots of tips where to go for a nice meal; or localities. We arrived at Florence airport and rented a car; the drive is an easy 50min along the autostrada and onto the very winding roads. From La Poggetta you can explore the hilly country side; it's 45mins to Sienna; and you have to see Radda in Chianti. We had a great stay.

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsLa Poggetta is a great property for a large family gathering or a group of families holidaying together.
The photos do not do the property justice, the house itself, grounds, pool, tennis courts etc are all well cared for and maintained.
As we were 3 couples with 4 young children there was plenty of suitable family rooms to accomodate us all.
Pros:
The villa is in a great location for visiting Siena, Florence and Chianti, San Giminano etc. and there are a few local towns with in a 15 min walk or 5 min drive of the villa.
There is an amazing little kitchen garden, which the owner insisted we avail of during our stay - so we enjoyed the delicious tomatoes, aubergines, lettuce, fresh basil and a range of herbs through out our stay.
As we had very small children it was difficult to go out for an evening meal as group, so we took advantage of the services of Lorenzo the local proprietor of a deli in the next town. He was really part of the highlight of the holiday, he inobtrusively arrived and cooked fabulous local tuscan food, brought different local wines to try and was full of knowledge of the area/vineyards/outlet stores....
He even fixed a small problem with had the cooker. If you want to enjoy a restaurant type meal in the comfort of the villa definately give him a call.
We had a sick child while on our stay and there is an excellent hospital near by which provided a really prompt and helpful service. There was and english speaking doctor and the staff were really friendly.
Cons
The villa is meant to be child friendly and while it is is fully equipped with cots/ high chair etc, if you have adventurous newly walking children there are lots of opens steps and stairs and the pool is very exposed. With a small bit of additional fencing around the pool area to secure access to it and the steps this would be the perfect villa as there is lots of garden for the children to run around in safely.
The owners are lovely and very friendly, although only speak italian so make sure you have your phrase book out when organising times of departure etc!
Overall though we would highly recommend this villa - we thorougly enjoyed our stay here.Would you recommend this property to a friend? Yes

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsThis is a wonderful house, particularly for families looking for a good amount of indoor common space, good sized grounds, and a pool. It is attached to another house – the owner’s brother’s though we hardly even noticed this the whole week and there really is complete privacy. It is true that the place is much nicer than the pictures would indicate.
Pro’s:
•Centrally located in the region, and near the A1 highway. Much of Tuscany is only reachable through windy roads, which makes driving times longer than they would appear by distance, so access to the highway makes travel to Florence, Lucca, etc. much easier
•Grounds are well maintained, pool is in immaculate condition. Owner comes by to clean pool
•House itself is also well maintained, the 4 bedrooms are of good size (including one with bunk-beds in a alcove and 2 with an extra single bed) and good overall layout
• There are plenty of kitchen utensils, pots, pans, glassware, towels, etc
•The owners offered access to a large garden which to pick and eat vegetables from (delicious tomatoes)
•The view is pretty solid - not majestic vineyards, but open fields.
•Near town of Cavriglia – 30 second drive or 15 min walk. The town doesn’t have a ton to offer (couple of restaurants, cafes, grocery store, and most importantly one place for gelato) but it is really nice to have something close to pop over to pick up an espresso or a liter of milk
Con’s:
•Owners do not speak English, which is understandable, however, they did stop by several times and wanted to communicate with us regarding the house. Once they brought an English speaking friend which made it easier.
•There are NO supplies in the house. Toilet paper, paper towels, dishwasher soap, salt, olive oil. One should stop at the food store and buy the staple items. We left some of these items behind which I would assume the next renter could take advantage of (but since someone cleared out the place before us, this is not a certainty). We strongly urge the agency to bring this to the attention of the owners, as we were disappointed to see nothing there of this sort. Usually there is at least salt left in a rental!
•Some of the city-folks thought that the mosquito’s tended to be a nuisance - could have been the season. There are some loud roosters nearby that wake up early.
Highlight of being at La Poggetta:
Since we were 3 young-ish couples that had 4 small children who have anglo-saxon bedtimes, going out to eat in Italy is difficult. We hired a chef from the agency to come cook for us 5 nights, who worked out great. Lorenzo has a small specialty shop in a nearby town with his aunt, and is an excellent cook. He provided us the great Italian food experience without having to keep the kids up late or getting a babysitter. 4 amazing courses, and he brought local wine from his own cellar to pair with each (for prices not much more than cost at the vineyards). We had him give us a casual cooking class one day, which was really good – though probably not replicable by us amateurs. And his personality really made the trip – English speaking, very friendly and open to talk about all subjects from Italian politics to the fact that parmesan cheese should never be put on seafood pasta, and very passionate about the local area and food. He provided us with great food and good local insight

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsI strongly recommend this property. It does everything right: most obviously it looks terrific, with a big pool and huge, well-maintained grounds; but it is also well set up in terms of the quality of kitchen and furniture, things like crockery and pans, and little things like a stock of wine you can take from and pay when you leave. Be aware that the owners speak no English but they are very friendly and take such obvious pride in the quality of their property - they really want people to like it. Frequently they turned up to bring us vegetables they had grown in their garden. The location itself is good - you can be in Florence in a little over half an hour if you want, but for us the best place was the nearby town of Radda in Chianti, which is exactly as you want a Tuscan town to be. All in all it was a wonderful place for a holiday and we were impressed. Just one suggestion: fans (even if just portable fans) would be useful in the bedrooms in the summer.

Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsWe really enjoyed our stay at La Poggetta. The villa is beautifully finished inside and the modern working shower rooms and bathrooms were much appreciated. I think the villa would work well for two families or four couples. The garden is just lovely, beautiful views, plenty of shade or sun all day round and big enough to find some privacy if required. The pool is a good size too for the number of people staying and the tennis court proved to be a real bonus. Another plus point, not be over exaggerated in an area where the roads can be very slow and bendy, is the easy access from the villa to the A1 which is a fast motor way through the centre of Italy. There are loads of places of interest in the area and Florence and Siena are very easy to get to.
Lucy the local agent was enormously helpful and generous with her time.
I think our only criticism may be that the web site pictures do not really do the place justice but this is a small point.

All rooms and common areas very spacious and well-appointed.Proximity to Cavriglia via a gravel road parallel to the main highway offered a pleasant walk into town. Cavriglia's location very good for Chianti region and other travels; easy access to railway and main highways. Cooking lesson was entertaining and instructive and rsulted in a great meal. Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsThis is a FABULOUS house!!! My husband and I traveled with our 2 daughters (9 and 11) and my mother-in-law. The space was perfect. The property, which was built by the owner himself, is beautifully constructed. We were there in October so the pool was a little chilly, but the tennis court and basketball hoops were a godsend during our "quiet" time. The town of Cavriglia was quaint and everyone was very helpful to us "Americans". We ate in two restaurants in town that were quite good. Overall we would stay here again and again. I am trying to talk my brother and his family into going next summer.

The location was central for exploring the Chianti region by bike and also has good access to public transport. The people in the town of Cavriglia were very helpful with directions to services. Excellent Villa Review Rating DetailsWe LOVED this villa. It's very beautiful and peaceful. The photos on the website do it no justice. We would stay again in a heartbeat. Great kitchen, modern amenities and a huge yard to run around in.We had the cook service for our first night at the villa. It was fabulous! Lorenzo & Lorena are wonderful cooks and super nice people. Lorena even put our baby to sleep when no one else could do the job! I would highly recommend this service to anyone.
